the airport is about 80km from your hotel which is about 1.5 hours driving distance.
You will have free time after check into your hotel.
Lanzhou is the capital city of Gansu province. About 3.2 million people live in this urban city. It is an ancient city on the Silk Road, between Europe and China, located at the entrance of a lowland corridor called Hexi corridor. On both sides of the long valley there are mountains, deserts and plateaus which obstruct journeys from the north and the south. 
Activities: Visit Bingling Grottoes for whole day
Details:After breakfast our guide and driver will meet you at your hotel and drive to Binglinsi grottoes which is the largest surviving Buddhas from the tang dynasty (618-907). The statue is about 27 meters (90 feet) tall. It resembles a giant statue built in central Asia 250 years ago and shows cultural links to the region. The statues begun in different dynasties and show the different cultures, costumes and physical features that worship god.
Today it is regarded as one of the five famous Buddhist grottoes in China.
After about 1.5 hour drive, you will take a boat and enjoy the boat ride to Bingling Grottoes. it is about an hour boating and the scenery along the lake is quite stunning
When you are finished with the grottoes , drive back to Lanzhou and stay overnight 
Activities: After breakfast visit Statue of mother of the Yellow River; water wheel garden and Baita park (the white tower); then take a bullet train to Zhangye
Details:After breakfast at the hotel, our guide and driver meet you in the hotel lobby and start the tour in Lanzhou; First visit the statue of mother of the Yellow River. The sculpture shows a baby lying in the arms of his mother, a sign that the Yellow River has nurtured the descendants of the Chinese nation for thousands of years.
Then visit the water wheel garden. The water wheel is the oldest irrigation tool on the Yellow River. You can see all kinds of ancient tools in this garden.
We drive to Baita park (the white tower) , one of the city’s landmarks. The white tower was built to commemorate the master of Tibetan Buddhism, a mountain on the north bank of the Yellow River is a good place to enjoy the panoramic view of the whole city.
Finally take a fast speed train to Zhangye which is about 3:30 hours journey.
Our local driver/Guide from Zhangye meet you at ZHangye railway station and transfer to your hotel 
Activities: Visit Wooden temple pagoda; Matisi temple; Zhangye Danxia Geopark;
Details:After breakfast, we will visit Wooden temple pagoda which has a long history and rebuilt in 1926; then drive to Matisi temple, 80KM 2Hs and has about 1600 years history; There are about 70 Buddhist grottoes since most grottoes were carved from the mountain tourists need to go up to the mountain, the lane is quite narrow;
After lunch drive to Zhangye Danxia geopark (rain bow mountain ) where we see different colors and the view is different at different times ;the scenery is really fantastic and incredible. It is the best representative of China’s colorful Danxia landform and the largest Danxia landscape in an arid area, with a wide variety of landforms.
Finally drive back to Hotel and stay overnight in Zhangye
